Six promising startups were chosen as finalists for ThrottleUp! 2010. These companies were invited to come together, share their company pitch and compete for a $5,000 prize (equity free capital!!!!).
This year's winner is a company from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Secure Waters, LLC. Secure Waters has obtained a license from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and will commercialize a technology called AquaSentinal which is a bio-sensor technology that can detect and identify toxins in the water supply that may result from natural disasters, regulatory violations or terrorist attacks.
